Michael Haukoos is an author, creator, and systems thinker based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His work focuses on emotional abuse, coercive control, false narratives, reputation destruction, and the long process of rebuilding after a life has been pulled apart.

Before writing publicly about abuse and recovery, Michael spent years in technology, leadership, business, and systems architecture. That background shaped the way he sees human behavior: not as random chaos, but as patterns, pressure points, cause and effect, and systems that either protect people or destroy them.

His work is built for survivors who are tired of being forced to overexplain their pain.

For the people who were isolated, gaslit, blamed, accused, mocked, and then told to stay quiet.

For the parents, professionals, partners, and ordinary people who lost their name inside someone else’s version of the story.

Michael’s writing does not ask survivors to perform their trauma for approval. It does not require perfect language, perfect healing, or a clean public image. It starts from a simpler belief:

You should not have to prove you were harmed before you are allowed to rebuild.

The Mission

Michael’s mission is to help people recognize the patterns that keep them trapped: manipulation disguised as concern, control disguised as love, silence disguised as peace, and reputation attacks disguised as accountability.

Through books, essays, videos, and survivor-focused commentary, his work gives people language for what they lived through — especially when the damage was emotional, psychological, social, or legal instead of obvious to the outside world.

The goal is not revenge.

The goal is clarity.

The goal is not to stay angry forever.

The goal is to stop letting someone else’s distortion become the final record of your life.

The Work

Michael is the author of A Testament to What Collapses, a multi-volume body of work about survival, truth, narrative collapse, and rebuilding identity after abuse and systemic failure. He is also the author of tactical survivor-focused works including Cast as the Villain and No Proof Required.

His writing combines lived experience, systems analysis, blunt honesty, and a deep commitment to people who have been dismissed, doubted, or deliberately misrepresented.

At the center of all of it is one message:

You are not crazy for remembering what happened.

You are not weak because it hurt.

You are not required to stay silent so someone else can stay comfortable.

And you are not alone.
